Why Your Skin Loves a Good Night’s Rest

We spend so much time thinking about what we put on our skin that it's easy to forget one of the simplest things our skin needs: time to rest.

While we sleep, our bodies are busy carrying out the natural processes that help us recover from the day. Our skin is part of that process too.

That makes nighttime a wonderful opportunity to simplify your skincare routine and give your skin some intentional nourishment.

🌙 Nighttime Is a Different Kind of Skincare

During the day, our skin is exposed to sunlight, wind, temperature changes, dry air, dirt, and everything else that comes with everyday life.

At night, those outside demands are reduced.

Instead of layering on multiple products, nighttime can be an opportunity to gently cleanse your skin and apply a nourishing moisturizer.

Simple can be enough.

🌿 Nourishment While You Rest

This is one reason we love rich, nourishing skincare at night.

A tallow-based moisturizer provides nourishing lipids that complement the skin's natural oils, while carefully selected botanical ingredients can add their own benefits to a nighttime routine.

The goal isn't to overwhelm your skin with layer after layer of products.

It's to give your skin simple nourishment and then let your body do what it naturally does while you rest.

🛏️ Your Routine Doesn't Have to Be Complicated

A nighttime skincare routine can be remarkably simple:

1. Cleanse gently.
Remove the day's buildup without unnecessarily stripping your skin.

2. Pat your skin dry.
There's no need to scrub or rub aggressively.

3. Apply a small amount of moisturizer.
Give your skin the nourishment and moisture it needs.

4. Go to sleep.
Give your body the rest it needs.

That's it.

You don't need a dozen steps to care for your skin intentionally.

🌿 A Little Consistency Goes a Long Way

Good skincare isn't necessarily about finding the most complicated routine.

It's about finding a routine that works for you and being consistent with it.

At Stillwaters, we believe that means returning to simple ingredients, traditional wisdom, and thoughtful formulations.

Your skin doesn't need to be constantly corrected.

Sometimes it simply needs to be clean, nourished, and left alone.

Rest. Nourish. Restore.

There's something beautiful about ending the day by slowing down.

Turn off the noise.

Care for your skin.

Get some rest.

And remember that caring for ourselves can be an act of gratitude for the bodies God has given us.

Simple skincare. A little nourishment. A good night's rest.

That's a pretty good way to end the day.
